Manual handling is where you use your own body to lift, move or support a load, and if it is carried out incorrectly or repetitively then you can be exposed to injury. As an employer it is important that you do have an understanding of the law including how to carry out risk assessments for manual handling.

Our one day Practical Manual Handling for Managers and Supervisors course is suitable for you if you are either a business owner or manager, or a supervisor or safety representative, and you have little or no knowledge of manual handling legislation.

Course Content
- State the principles of correct lifting technique to minimise risk of injuries.
- Be aware of parts of the body that are at risk of injury due to poor handling techniques and recognize common injuries that can occur.
- Better appreciate the risks of manual handling and understand how to help reduce them in your workplace.
- Recognize your responsibilities and duties as an employer regarding manual handling regulations.
- Carry out risk assessment of manual handling tasks using documents provided.
