Fire Safety Training
Each year, people die or are seriously injured as a result of a fire in the workplace. Fires in the workplace also impact on business, in terms of profitability, performance and jobs.
By developing your understanding of fire hazards, controls, principles and practice of fire safety, you will be able to assist your employer by undertaking specific roles in the workplace to ensure that fire risk remains at an acceptable level. Employers are required by law to provide fire safety training, this should include-
Fire Awareness Training
This shall be given to all members of staff on induction and periodically refreshed. This training must be specific to the workplace and may include the operation and use of fire extinguishers. Highway Safety & Construction Training provides both specific and generic Fire Awareness Training.

Fire Warden/ Marshal Training
This shall be given to selected members of staff. Suitable and sufficient numbers of staff shall be trained to take account of your premises and number of occupants based on your Fire Risk Assessment. Highway Safety & Construction Training provides both specific and generic Fire Warden Training which will include operation and use of fire extinguishers.
Specific training will be tailored or designed in accordance with your companies;

Fire Extinguisher Training
This shall be given to required members of staff as per your Fire Risk Assessment. Highway Safety & Construction Training provides specific Fire Extinguisher Training.
This will include;
- Class A fires – Selection, operation and use of appropriate fire extinguishers suitable for use on Class A fires
- Class B fires – Selection, operation and use of appropriate fire extinguishers suitable for use on Class B fires
- Class C fires – Selection, operation and use of appropriate fire extinguishers suitable for use on Class C fires
- Class D fires – Selection and use of appropriate fire extinguishers suitable for use on Class D fires
- Fire Blankets – Selection, operation and use of Fire Blankets
- Fires of Electrical Origin – Selection, operation and use of appropriate fire extinguishing media
Fire Risk Assessor
This shall be given to employers/employees who have a responsibility to;
- Carry out the duties of the appropriate person
- Anyone who is required to undertake, review or revise Fire Risk Assessments
Highway Safety & Construction Training provides Fire Risk Assessor Training to enable the required persons to undertake, review and revise Fire Risk Assessments for Low-Risk premises. The Fire Risk Assessment Training will be suitable for Life Safety Assessments and Business Fire Risk.
