
Introduction
The aim of this qualification is to assess learners against the national standard in a realistic low risk environment. This will include;
- Preparing to work safely
- Entering and exiting confined spaces safely
- Using equipment and tools safely
- Following procedures
- Dealing with emergencies.
There is also a behavioral emphasis on the learner undertaking the assessment in an efficient and safe manner.
The learner will demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of low risk confined spaces, and will demonstrate the appropriate practical skills, through a mix of practical observation and written assessment.
This Course is available for Water (6150-01) or Non-Water (6150-51)
Course Designed For
This course is designed for entrants entering confined spaces with the following characteristics;
- Shallow entry
- Adequate natural or mechanical ventilation
- Where access is simple, unobstructed and no likely risk of flooding
- PRV Chambers
- Meter pits
- Valve chambers
- Booster pumping stations

Course Qualification
Learners will obtain certification from City & Guilds (awarding body)
Registration card can be issued upon request (HSCT)
Refresher Training
3 Years until refresher is required as per HSE guidance (Full course)
