
Introduction
The aim of this course is to develop learners individual competence on the correct use, operation and inspection of Impact Protection Vehicles (IPV) in line with the NHSS 12 scheme requirements.
Course Designed For
All persons who will be required by their employer to work on high speed roads, running mobile hard shoulder (or non-live lane) operations using an IPV and for protecting and installing static temporary traffic management.
Course Pre-requisites
Course delegates must hold the appropriate HGV category on their driving licence. If learners are only completing the IPV qualification and hold no other NHSS 12 qualifications they must hold the TTMBC as a course pre-requisite. To drive on live lanes the candidate must hold a valid NHSS 12A/B or 12C operative card as a minimum otherwise they are restricted to mobile hard shoulder operations (non-live lanes).

Course Qualification
Skill identity smart card (issued by Lantra Awards) upon completion of written and practical assessments on competence (with IPV category added to card)

5 Years until refresher is required (training day only)
